NJ Concealed Carry Training & CCARE Qualification in South Jersey
South Jersey Shooting Academy LLC offers instructor-led New Jersey carry preparation, CCARE qualification, and required use-of-force education. Gregory Maloney is an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor and Range Safety Officer serving Camden County, Gloucester County, and South Jersey.
Training for a New Jersey Permit to Carry
A New Jersey Permit to Carry a Handgun is commonly called a concealed carry permit. CCARE means Civilian Carry Assessment and Range Evaluation. Your session covers safe handgun handling, the required range qualification, and use-of-force education. After successful completion, Gregory provides the instructor completion documents for your application.
Training and applying for a permit are separate steps. The academy provides instruction and qualification; the appropriate police department processes your application and decides whether to issue a permit. Completing a course does not guarantee permit approval.
Preparation or qualification?
If you are new to handguns, begin with beginner firearms training and discuss your readiness with Gregory before scheduling a qualification. If you already have experience, request an NJ Carry / CCARE session and explain whether you need preparation, qualification, use-of-force education, or help choosing a session.
What to bring
The academy’s CCARE checklist asks you to bring at least 100 rounds in the correct caliber, your qualification firearm in your name, eye protection, hearing protection, photo identification, and your New Jersey FID card. These are academy session preparation instructions. Discuss your circumstances and equipment with Gregory before attending; confirm the range, price, and appointment directly.
Use the official permit instructions
New Jersey residents apply to the police department that provides coverage for their residence. Read the official NJSP Permit to Carry portal for current instructions, documents, and the correct processing agency. Review the instructions before paying application fees.
