Beginner Firearms Training in South Jersey
Your first firearms lesson should give you time to ask questions and learn at your own pace. South Jersey Shooting Academy LLC provides patient beginner instruction with Gregory Maloney, an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor and Range Safety Officer.
Start with safe handling
Beginner sessions focus on safe handling habits, range preparation, and learning how to practice under individual guidance. You do not need prior shooting experience to request a session. Share your experience and goals so Gregory can discuss the appropriate starting point.
Build your handgun fundamentals
Instruction introduces grip, stance, sights, and trigger control with feedback suited to your current ability. The aim is to build understanding and confidence without rushing. Training and equipment details are discussed before the appointment.
Choose the right course
Beginner Firearms Training is a starting option for new shooters. For structured basic pistol education, explore NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting. Private Marksmanship Coaching is available for students who want individual feedback and continued practice. If your longer-term goal is a New Jersey carry permit, discuss a preparation path before requesting NJ Carry / CCARE Qualification.
What should I bring?
Gregory confirms equipment, preparation, pricing, and the approved South Jersey range before the session. If you do not own a firearm or need help with equipment, explain that in your appointment notes and ask about arrangements before attending.
Serving South Jersey students
The academy serves Camden County, Gloucester County, and students across South Jersey. Sessions are arranged by appointment. Contact Gregory to confirm your training location and session availability.
